Concord Festival: Now an Annual Event for Sure

Thanks to Stuart-Sinclair Weeks and other organizers of the second annual Shakespeare Festival in Concord MA over the past weekend (July 31-Aug 2) at the Concord Free Public Library and Masonic Hall.  Congratulations to all the participants!  The high quality of the presentations ensures that this will be an annual event and that, from here on, it will continue to grow.

My co-writer and director Ted Story and I were grateful to be asked to stage a performance of our 90-minute solo show Shake-speare’s Treason as part of the festival.  We look forward to presenting it in November at the joint conference of the Shakespeare-Oxford Society & Shakespeare Fellowship in Houston, TX.

We’re also gearing up to bring this work into more and more colleges and universities, offering the show plus Q&A sessions followed by classroom appearances and/or seminars — opening up those academic doors and windows to let in some fresh air!

Here’s a photo by Bill Boyle during my performance last at the Gerding Theater in Portland OR (sponsored by Concord University and Professor Daniel Wright, director of the Shakespeare Authorship Research Centre on the campus):
